Another Birthday Card

I made this card for my niece who turned 9 recently. I wanted to create a card that was not babyish for her but still girly.

I used Summer By The Sea (SU©) stamp set. Another favourite of mine. I usually watercolour this image but this time chose instead to paper piece her dress and hat with Enchante (SU©) retired).
I water coloured the grass in Certainly Celery and added Kindy Glitz Crystalina for some Bling and dimension.
I used my Cuttlebug to emboss Divine Swirls onto the Very Vanilla Cardstock. I added a strip of the DSP to the cardstock before it was embossed and then applied the Kindy Glitz to the paper.
The flowers are from my stash and the Rhinestone brad is from the Ice Circles (SU©).

Thanks for visiting. Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Some Birthday Cards

Recently we have had some birthdays in the family so it was time to get out the kiddie sets and make some cards for the littlies.
This card was for our cousins little boy who just turned three.

I used the Aligator from the Wild About You stamp set and the sentiment is from It's Your Birthday.
I wanted a bright card so I chose DSP from the Jersey Shore paper pack.
Cardstock used is Brilliant Blue, Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi.
Inks are Wild Wasabi and Pumpkin Pie.
I added the pumpkin pie ribbon and then tied the navy ribbon on for more interest and to balance the card.

Another birthday card but this one was for my niece who just turned 5 last week.

I used the same stamp set as above but used the elephant and inked her up in Regal Rose. The flower is from the Wild About You set too and was inked with Tempting Turquoise and Chocolate Chip.
The DSP is Loves Me (retired). I love the colours of this paper. Cardstock colurs used are Tempting Turquoise. Whisper White and Taken with Teal.
I have used my cuttlebug with the Stylized Flowers embossing folder ( I think that is the one) and reverse embossed onto the paper. I have then used my blender pen and Tempting Turquise ink and brushed the inset design to draw it out and add more colour.
The ribbons are Pretty in Pink and Whisper White Taffeta.

All materials are Stampin Up©

Summer Scrapbook Page

A few weeks ago I had a scrapbook class at my house and we created this summer layout for one of the pages. This was the first time I had used solely Stampin' Up© products in my scrapbooking.

Cardstock: Blue Bayou, Soft Sky and Spring Break Designer Series Paper.
Inks: River Rock, Old Olive, Soft Sky and Blue Bayou.
Stamp set: Life's a Breeze.
Accessories: Stampin' dimensionals.

I cut the DSP to border the page and cut out several of the flowers for the other side to continue the colours and theme. It's a bit hard to tell from the photo, but the sail boat at the top is stamped using the rock n' roll technique.

Baby Boy Card

One of my friends had a baby boy on Wednesday so I needed to make a card for her. I haven't had to make any baby cards for a while so it was really nice to sit down and create this one.

The stamp set is A New Little Someone (SU retired). This is one of my favourite stamp sets I use often for baby cards. The bunny is so sweet. I watercoloured him with Bashful blue, So Saffron and Choc Chip stamp pads, using my aquapainter to apply the ink.
Sentiment is from Nursery Necessities stamp set.

The cardstock is Bashful Blue, Naturals Ivory and watercolour paper. The printed paper is So Saffron Designer Series Paper from a sample pack I have.

Ribbon is Very Vanilla Taffeta and Fancy Fibers in Subtles ( '07 product). Other accesories are scallop punch, 1 3/8" punch, corner rounder and Stampin' Dimensionals.
All products are Stampin' Up©.

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful weekend.

December 01, 2008

Hello and welcome to my blog. My goal was to get this blog up and running before the end of the year and wow, it has finally happened. A huge thank you to Marcia at The Stamp Spot who helped me to get this going. I appreciate all your help and know I would never have gotten this off the ground without all your wonderful expertise, so again thank you for everything.

Being my first post I am a little nervous but also excited. Anyway here goes..... Over the weekend I had my last Christmas card class for the year. All the ladies enjoyed themselves and went home with these card creations.

I got the idea for this card from Yvonne Campbell's blog - Campbell Creations. Though I have changed the layout of the card slightly.

The stamp is from Always (Stampin' Up©) and sentiment from Occasional greetings (SU).
The card is Real Red and Whisper White. I created the scallop with the corner rounder punch. The stamps are coloured in with Stamin' write markers in Real Red and Glorious Green.
The ribbon is striped grosgrain again in Real Red.

The inspiration for this card came from Makeesha Byl with the original sketch from Beate Johns' (fresh and fun) weekly sketches.

This card uses Holiday Harmony Designer Series Paper, Always Artichoke, Purely Pomegranate and Whisper White cardstock. The stamps are from Priceless, Fabulous Flowers and Warmest Regards sets. The flower was put together using two stamped images, layering and offsetting them to create a poinsetta looking flower. I have glittered up the flower and swirls using 2-way glue and Dazzling Diamonds glitter. Punches used: 1 3/8", 1 1/4" circle and Designer Label.
All products used are Stampin' Up©.

This is a really simple card which takes little time to put together and is great if you have small scraps of DSP to use up. The sketch came from Amy at Prairiepaperand ink.

Cardstock is Always Artichoke, Whisper White and Wintergreen DSP. Stamped images are from Always and Loads of Love stamp sets. Ribbon is Whisper White 1/4" Grosgrain. Ink colours are Certainly Celery and Sage hadow.
All products used are Stampin' Up©.

This is one of my favourite cards which I really enjoyed creating.
The cardstock is Soft Sky and Wintergreen DSP. The stamp is Figures of Speech which I stamped onto the WW card and then layered onto Purely Pomegranate Cardstock which you can't quite see from the photo. The trees were glittered using the 2-way glue and Dazzling Diamonds. The border around the window was done using different sizes square punches - first using the 1 1/4" and then the 1 3/8" . I blinged the border using the same glitter technique I used on the trees.
The Purely Pomegranate double stiched ribbon was threaded using the slit punch.
All products are from Stampin' Up©.

Thanks for visiting.
